BCIRPU is recruiting volunteers to present in elementary schools for the 2019 BrainWaves program. BrainWaves is an informative and fun neuroscience half-day presentation that teaches grade 4-6 students in Metro Vancouver about the brain and spinal cord, and why it is so important to protect them.

A volunteer training session will be held on Monday, March 4 from 5-7 PM at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. Trained volunteers will have an understanding for injury prevention and will deliver the hands-on program with activity booklets, helmet fitting tips, and Jello Brains. Volunteers will be assigned to do presentations at schools and time blocks that fit their schedule. The BrainWaves presentations will take place between March and June 2019 during school hours.
